No Words...

I've run out of adjectives to describe how I am feeling these days. I was happily awaiting the moment when I get to see my first work of fiction being offered as an e-book by Amazon when I got an email saying that the decision had been made to not only e-publish in early December, but that my novel "Behind the Gray" will also (are you sitting down?) be available by Christmas in hard copy. As Grandma Gussie would say "Well, shut my mouth!"

Coming December 2012   Read all about it here!

I am excited. Terrified. Thrilled. Scared. Disbelieving. Sorry, I may make a living (well, at least an occasional small paycheck) with words, but I can't come up with enough or the right ones to describe my emotions these days.

All of my adult life I have dreamed of being "a novelist." It was a rush, a big one, to see my non-fiction books on the shelves at the book store. But...to have a novel published? Words that I thought up, plucked literally out of the air between my ears, about things and people that don't exist? I honestly just can't wrap my mind around the fact that This. Is. Happening.

If someone had something negative to say about my non-fiction books I could write them off as simply having a different opinion (or that "I know more than you do, neener neener, you are an idiot"). But, if someone says something negative about my NOVEL? Well, now that's hitting me in my heart. I'm not sure I'm ready for that.

Stop the presses! (I've always wanted to yell that) OK. Don't really stop. Just everyone hold hands and join me in a round of fervent prayer that reviewers will be kind and readers will be enthralled. Or at the very least entertained.

Amen.
